Creative Industries Festival: Sounds of Salvador: community Samba Reggae comes to Oxford Brookes!

Come and experience samba reggae, the music at the heart of social and cultural life in Salvador, Brazil. Salvador's drummers have innovated from within their spiritual African traditions, creating powerful music that has been taken up by grassroots bands across the world. This music is brought to you by Sol Samba, one of Oxford's longest-running community bands, which has been bringing people together through the joy of samba since the summer of 1999! Sol Samba play at gigs and festivals across Oxford and the South East, sharing Carnival vibes with the thousands gathering for Oxford’s May Morning sunrise celebrations, and leading the Oxford Pride parade, igniting crowds with the pulsating spirit and infectious energy of samba reggae grooves. Come along to listen, learn, and try out some rhythms!
